Privacy policy

Short version: the site asks you for nothing, creates no account, and drops no tracker until you have accepted advertising. Details below.

What is stored in your browser

Three values, in local storage, and nothing else. They are not cookies and are never sent to a third party.

uc_token	A random token issued by the server that identifies you in the current room. It is what gives your seat back when you reload the page. It contains no personal data.
uc_code	The code of the room you are in.
uc_lang	The display language you picked.

These three values are strictly necessary for the game to work: without them, reloading the page would lose your game. As such they do not require your consent. You can clear them at any time by deleting the site's data in your browser.

What the server keeps

During a game, the server holds your nickname, role, word and score in memory. Nothing is written to disk. It all disappears when the room closes, at the latest two hours after the last activity, and in any case whenever the server restarts.

The nickname you type is visible to the other players in the room. Pick one that does not identify you if you would rather stay anonymous.

The web server logs incoming requests, as any server does: IP address, date, page requested. These logs are used for technical diagnosis and security. They are neither used commercially nor passed on.

Advertising

No ads are served on this site at present. The advertising account is under review by Google.

The Google AdSense script is, however, present in the pages, because the review process requires it: Google's crawler reads the page source to check that the site belongs to its publisher. That script may set technical cookies. As long as the account is not approved, it serves no ads and builds no advertising profile.

Once the account is approved, consent will be collected by Google's certified platform (Funding Choices), which passes your choice to the script through the European framework designed for it. You will be able to accept or decline personalised ads, and change your mind at any time from the link in the footer. The site remains fully usable without ads.

The processing carried out by Google is covered by its own privacy policy, at policies.google.com/privacy. You can also manage your Google ad preferences at myadcenter.google.com.

What there isn't

• No audience measurement, no analytics.
• No social buttons, no fonts or images loaded from a third party.
• No email address collected, no newsletter.
• No selling or sharing of data. There is nothing to sell.

Your rights

European regulation gives you rights of access, correction and erasure over your personal data. In practice the site keeps none of it durably: there is no account, no database, and nothing that survives a room closing. For any question, the contact page is there.
